Indian industries are effectively responding to Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) challenges to become globally and domestically competitive. The measures taken by the Government of India in multiple areas including IPR and the response of the Indian industry has helped India to move up in the "Ease of doing business" chain.
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has been contributing to the Indian IPR eco-system in a major way for the last many years. These efforts include awareness creation, training, IPR services to industry, working closely with the central and state governments, carrying forward its members' opinion to the governments and awarding top industries in maintaining sound and competitive IPR portfolios. This award is called CII Industry Intellectual Property Award and it was instituted in 2015.
Last year in December CII concluded the 5th edition of Industrial IP Awards which were given to 24 companies including large enterprises, MSMEs and start-ups.
