To celebrate the 90th Birth Anniversary of late Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, former President of India and
Chairman Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies, with support of DRDO and Indian Military Review, will organise a Webinar-cum-virtual expo “Cutting Edge & Futuristic Technologies” from 7 th to 8 th October 2021.
In the last few years, India has seen some exceptional technological advancements and achievements by DRDO in building Atmanirbhar Bharat. India today has achieved self-reliance in the areas such as missiles, radars, sonars, torpedos, electronic warfare systems, airborne early warning and control, and communication systems.
Today, there are 2,000 companies in India which are able to develop and manufacture systems and sub-systems while there are 10,000 companies in the component development.
DRDO has also rolled out several initiatives to transfer technologies to the private sector, develop
adequate testing facilities which could be developed in the PPP (public-private-partnership) model,
motivate industry to carry out research and development.
