Celebrating the Week from 14-21 November 2021 under AKAM with Theme of Children: Ideas, Rights & Nutrition

As we celebrate 75 years of independent India under 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', the Ministry of Women and Child Development, GOI, is organizing a set of activities and events which align with the larger vision of the Ministry, i.e., holistic development of women and children. The activities, covering the theme of Children Ideas, Rights & Nutrition are taking place from 14th November to 21st November 2021.

The Ministry started the week with a host of activities in different Child Care Institutions on 14 November, the Children’s Day.

On 20 November, Bal Adhikar Utsav/Mela and Seminar on Child Rights will be held; activities to be under taken by NIPCCD with participation from concerned ministries i.e. Ministry of Law and Justice. It will cover the following topics:

- Rights of Children as enshrined in Indian Constitution & UNCRC: A ground reality

- Providing a safe environment to children

- Fulfilment of Educational rights of children in accordance with new education policy.

Another Seminar for Child Rights to be organized by NCPCR tentatively on 21 Nov 2021.

The Ministry is also organising a quiz competition on the theme of ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ for Diaspora children with assistance from the Ministry of External Affairs.
