From Wednesday 26 May to Saturday 28 May 2022, the 1st International Dragon Festival (IKF Slovenia 2022) will take place at the airport of the Murska Sobota Aeroclub.
The International Kite Festival will be attended by over 80 kiters from 21 European countries, from Brazil and India. In addition to the aerial spectacle of kites, there will be a number of accompanying activities, such as workshops for children and adults, kite fighting, kite ballet and night kite flying with lights; world masters of acrobatic and sports kites on two and four strings will present their knowledge as well as the breath-taking kites on strings of several tens of meters. The air spectacle will last all festival days from 1000 to 1900 hrs, as noted by KAP Jasa.
The festival is co-organized by the Embassy of India in Slovenia and Her Excellency the Ambassador of India to Slovenia, Ms. Namrata S. Kumar under Amrit Mahotsav 75 years of India’s independence celebrations, the Municipality of Murska Sobota and the Mayor of Murska Sobota, Mr. Aleksander Jevšek, the Institute of Culture, Tourism and Sports Murska Sobota, and the KAP Jasa kite association - kite team Slovenia.
The honorary sponsor of the International Kite Festival (IKF Slovenia 2022 - Murska Sobota) is the President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor.
