Emergency Certificate (EC)  

[To enable applicant to urgent return to India]

In case the existing passport is lost, damaged or stolen or is wrongly withheld by employer and the applicant needs to travel urgently, an Emergency Certificate (EC) may be issued if the consular officer is satisfied of the nature of urgency. An EC can only permit travel back to India.

Applicants are required to fill up Emergency Certificate Application form online at the following link: https://mportal.passportindia.gov.in/mission/.

Please note that the applicant is required to upload a recent photograph, signature, and scanned copies of the current passport (both front and back pages) on the portal.

Checklist of Required Documents

  1. Printed copy of the completed and signed application form

  2. One passport-size photograph (3.5 cm x 3.5 cm) pasted on the application form
      ➤ This must be the same photo uploaded during the online application process

  3. Copy of the Indian passport

  4. Police report (mandatory in case of lost/stolen passport)

  5. Copy of Slovenian visa or residence card

  6. A signed application addressed to the Consular Officer, Embassy of India, Ljubljana, stating the reason for requesting an Emergency Certificate
      ➤ Include contact details (mobile number and address) of two references in India
