The Government of India has launched a portal called "Study in India" (SII) to facilitate international students in applying for admission and visa processes. The portal supports foreign students seeking to pursue regular, short-term, or long-term courses in Indian academic institutions or Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs).

 

All international students who wish to study in India are now mandatorily required to register on the SII Portal and provide the necessary information. Upon registration, the portal generates a unique identifier known as the SII-ID, which must be quoted when applying for student visa.
